Research
  1. Action research exploring marginalized groups' conflict and struggles over protected areas. The study is being undertaken in Koshi Tappu Wild Life Reserve (in Sunsari and Saptari districts) and Royal Bardiya National Park (in Bardiya district) in partnership with KVS, PCDF and UCHEP and in collaboration with DANIDA – HUGOU.   2. Action research under " Advocating minority rights to environmental justice " on rights and livelihood of indigenous fishing community of Chitwan and Nawalparasi districts is being conducted in partnership with ICIMOD. ( Ongoing )
  3. A Study on Empowerment Strategy of Madheshi Dalits in Tarai, 2005 in partnership with Jana Chetana Dalit Sangam, Saptari and SNV Nepal. Some of their pressing issues are landlessness, lack of citizenship, caste discrimination, access to common property resources, participation in political parties, unfair wage etc.
  4. Situational analysis of Chepangs in Chitwan, Makwanpur, Dhading and Gorkha districts was conducted in 2005 in partnership with Nepal Chepang Association (NCA). Around 90 per cent Chepangs are landless and 60 per cent Chepangs do posses citizenship certificates.
  5. "25 years of chitwan national park and local relations”
    The study discloses alternative side to twenty five years of conservation in Chitwan national park. It assesses impact of conservation on locals residing in buffer zone area. Issues of livelihood crisis, threats and vulnerability due to wild animals have been explored.
